Material & Ethereal – Blue Jade

In this work, a restrained architectural pillar becomes the ground for quiet transformation. A sculpted metal creeper climbs its surface – not painted, not embedded, but physically emerging and wrapping around the column as though nature has claimed structure as its own.

Clusters of finely detailed blossoms gather along the vine, their petals unfolding in muted metallic tones. Among them, the blue jade flowers punctuate the composition with a cool luminosity – subtle yet unmistakable. They are not decorative accents; they are moments of breath within the work.

The tension between the pillar’s clean geometry and the organic, flowering spread of the creeper forms the heart of the piece. The vine appears to grow upward, tracing its own rhythm, softening the rigidity of the column without overwhelming it. Material becomes ethereal through this gesture – metal behaving like something living, something in quiet ascent.

This piece speaks of coexistence: structure and surrender, permanence and bloom.
